Lord Benedict

School project - 2018-2019

From The Amber Chronicles

Costume Process

Benedict here was made as a school project which was supposed to focus on a future career. Already being invested in theater arts and costuming at that point, I decided to make an Elizabethan doublet. It's based losely on a character, Benedict of Amber from Rodger Zelazny's Amber Chronicles, but since the books have very little official art, I designed him myself.

Half of the cut pieces

I designed flower patterns for the side panels of the doublet, since they tie into a lily motif I'd decided for him. There were cut intl the vegan leather with a leather punch and hammer, and behind the panel would be another panel of orange satin that peeks through.
